What is the salary of an IAS officer?
IAS is one of the most prestigious services in India. All civil servants IAS, IFS, and IPS receive a lump sum amount of salary with allowances. The salary of all civil servants is revised as per the 7th pay commission in the year 2016.
Initially, during a training period of 2 years, the salary range of an IAS officer is between INR 35,000/- to INR 40,000/-. Once they complete the training and get posted as an SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) of a district of a cadre, they get a salary of INR 56,100/-. They also get some allowances such as Transport Allowance, Housing Rent Allowance, etc.
With time, as they gain experience, they get promoted from the District level to the Central level. With 37+ years of experience in the service, they can become Cabinet Secretary of India. In this position, they receive the highest salary of INR 2,50,000/-
